Hello! New to this forum. Love collecting coins. Dont know much about them but love learning. Came across this silver quarter a couple years ago, was kinda odd so i took it to a guy that knows a good amount about US coins. And he tested it is a silver coin. And he had no idea about it. And imediatly wanted to buy it. I figured a home shopping network coin? Haha idk

As @furryfrog02 wrote... they minted both silver proof and business strikes. It looks to me like yours is the proof variety. The exact figures of each are unknown (or unreleased by the mint). I read that they melted a couple million that went unsold (very unpatriotic eh), but who knows how accurate that is. At he very least it's not more than the aforementioned reported figures.
