    Hey Coin Talk Folks,

I came across these rare Key Date Morgan Dollars while searching eBay and was hoping for some opinions! From what I can find, this Seller has only had 7 total transactions on eBay all of which are for purchases and one transaction received, got him/her a Negative Feedback due to a Neutral Feedback that he/she posted. I could overlook the fact that this Seller has an 85.7 Feedback rating due to the Negative on the purchase but not the fact that he/she has never sold anything before on eBay much less some of the rariest Key Date Morgans and does not have any pictures of the Reverses of the coins!

What do you all think! IMHO, while most look good from the Obverse pictures, a couple of them look a little off and more like Chinese knock-offs.

    Frank,

Sorry! I thought that I copied and pasted the link before I posted the New Thread! I have included it below, the email that I sent this eBay User and also the email response that I received back (without her address that she freely provided). I also emailed her back and advised that she needed to contact eBay as apparently someone is using her' ID to sell these coins and have provided her additional response.

    Hi,

I have a few concerns about this and the other coins that you have up for auction and hope that you can answer my email!

Do you have any History on these coins (i.e. where they came from, how did you come about geting them for auction, etc.)? Since these are the first items that you have ever sold on eBay, how is it that you now have for sale some of the rariest Key Date Morgan Dollars? Can you email me additional pictures of the Reverses of all of the coins (the 1889-CC, 1893-CC, 1885-CC, 1881-CC, 1893-CC and 1895-O)? How do you know that all of these coins are genuine and authentic?

I am sorry but I do have some concerns when I may be spending a considerable amount of money and since these are the first ever items that you have sold on eBay!

    Thanks...Frank

    Hi again,

Then I hate to tell you but apparently someone is selling rare Key date Morgan Silver Dollars on eBay using your User ID! Just go to the link provided in the previous email and you will see what I mean or you can go to the link below. If this is not you, then you need to contact eBay and let them know.

Good catch. The listing is gone! (In less than a half-hour.)

For her sake, let's hope Becky has changed her password.

Hacking of eBay accounts is becoming a serious problem. My friend had a classic car that he restored, on eBay Motors 2 weeks ago and he received an e-mail from someone with a question. The e-mail he received looked so genuine but the following day, just 10 hours before the auction was to end, the auction was closed and he was receiving e-mails about 2nd chnace offers on the car. This account stealer, closed his auction early and of course, it showed that the seller sold to the highest bidder. Yeah right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he'd sell his $14,000 car for $4000. We fully expected it to sell for close to $10,000 but we all know that eBayers put things on their watchlist (there were 28 on his watchlist for this car), and then bid late.

I spent time with eBay Live Help and they were able to determine that the account had been compromised so they removed the auction totally from the closed search so it would be totally gone!!!! The fraud rep. I spoke to via Live Help was really nice and quite helpful. I was surprised.....LOL. It took me hours to write the auction for him because he has never sold anything on eBay, only bought. He took 36 pictures so potential bidders had great pics of virtually everything. He is waiting 2-3 weeks and then he will relist it, or I should say, I will relist it under his eBay user ID as I did before.

These password stealers just want the money. They sell items using your ID, collect payment and send nothing.

It appears as though the coin auctions by Becky are gone so it seems eBay has permanently removed them and hopefully Becky has changed her password. I think she owes you a major THANK YOU because I am sure that without your question, someone would have used her ID to sell coins, collect money and then screw the winners...all under her ID and name!

    They were all bogus looking.

Sounds like you prevented some problems for Becky, ebay, and potential buyers. :thumb:

Not sure if Becky wants her email posted in a public place. Maybe I'm over paranoid. We share the same ISP and it appears she lives less than 20 minutes from me.

I’m not an E-Bay person but you would think E Bay would send an E-mail (confirmation) to her or anyone who puts something up for sale.

    This would alert people
