Yet when the customer spends $100 to have a coin conserved, graded, then shipped back you can expect them to be asking where they're package is. More so when they state NCS service is 20 working days. When you're almost 50% longer you'll start to get some questions. Plus they won't release my other grades until they've all been shipped. I asked. They said they can't even view that information. 6 weeks is a long time to find out a grade.
Once you get it back give them a call and see if there is anything they can do for you from the extensive delay. NGC is usually pretty good about giving you something if a process takes significantly longer than it should
Well, BigTee44, I attributed a bust half for you weeks ago and I am still waiting for a thank you ;-) 1807 Half Dollar Die Variety https://www.cointalk.com/index.php?threads/1807-Half-Dollar-Die-Variety.275900/
It was just gunk. I don't think it was corossion. I think a simple water rinse would remove it. I'm hoping it doesn't get details! That would suck. Go from being top pop to details
Excellent advice from a real man. Ask for Maggie at NGC and politely explain your problem. Make sure you tell her that this is the first problem you've had and you love NGC, but all your pals are crying foul and telling you PCGS is better. Ask if she can give you a little credit on the submission. If she does, then tell her thanks, not to worry, and don't bother anyone about rushing your coins as you know they are very busy.
IMO, the gunk has corroded your coin. Perhaps they ARE WAITING on the boss to tackle this one. They will not scratch it so it shouls straight grade.
Thanks for taking the time to post/find all those photos. I see scratches where the spots were on several of them. Others look normal. If the spot is not micro-scratched, tooled, or chemically etched, in my experience it will get downgraded on eye appeal rather than "detailed." Your efforts confirm my opinion that the TPGS guys are all over the place when it comes to spot removals and there are many, many times when THEY MISS THEM completely.
Head of customer service. You can try Melissa, Lisa also but Maggie is the boss. Be nice and say you have a little problem
No she informed me that only the head honcho Dave was allowed to touch it and he just got back from China and it's currently in the lab. She also explained why they thought anyone at NCS could conserve he coin which is why they said itd be done by the weeks end. But I was happy to know my grades. Even talked to Scott who's sending two coins back to the graders for further explanation and one over to NCS to see if it can be conserved.
