Here is the Liz I Shilling I had mentioned in a old thread I got. Got it at a great price considering Shillings of her tend to get expensive in any grade it seems. Elizabeth I (1558 - 1603 A.D.) AR Schilling. O: ELIZABETH : D : G : ANG : FR : ET : HIB : REGI, Crowned bust of Elizabeth left; bust 6B. R: POSVI DEV: ADIVTORVM • MEV:, Long cross over shield. Second Issue, 1560-1561. 32mm 5.5g Mint mark: Martlet. Spink 2555.
I love the different makers (or Mint) marks on these. Easy to look up where made and an additional interest to the coins. My preference is Tower (of London).
Nice. When it came to get one for my british coins collection, I was torn between getting one in a grade I could afford or getting a better six pence. That time I chose the six pence, but I don't give up on getting a shilling once Six pence, 6th type, 1591 Ref : Spink # 2578 B Q
