This is a very strange coin?

Really? I compared with other 69 S's and it's a lot different I'm sure of it. The IGWT, Liberty, even the date. Look again the 2 photo's and tell me if it's different from normal? Click to enlarge see doubling's. Thanks

The coin 1969 appears to be to perfect, I.m not saying it is a fake but its to perfect unless it has bee hidden away since its minting as there does not appear to be any wear on it I would want to have it checked out for authenticity, (caviet emtor)

The OP coin, and the one later posted, are both perfectly genuine examples of 1969-S Lincoln cents, but what they're not is the variety this gentleman pops in every few months to insist (against all proof, reason, or common sense).

 

Unfortunately, I see no evidence that would suggest the coin could be a doubled die.

 

Strike Depth/pressure and die age can make devices "appear" to be different when no difference, other than standard manufacturing processes, have occurred in the die making process.

Fat Letters, skinny letters, ejection doubling, die deterioration doubling. None change the basic design of the coin.

I nothing on any of your photographs which would lead me to believe that the subject coin is anything other than a 1 cent piece that could be freely spent without question.

They carry a nice premium in high grades. Ken Potter gets quite a bit for these but I do not have a copy of his ad handy. All depends upon market demand and who's willing to pay the premium.
