Die deterioration above date where it looks like another date?

    I don't know about die deterioration, but that's one heck of a well worn cent...........

    It's difficult to tell from here but I "think" I see something happening with that second 8. Bottom left side of the 8. You see it?

    I think he is referring to the crescent above the "8". IMO, just a corroded cent, not die deterioration.

    Like looking at clouds when you were a kid........what did you see when you were laying on your back? Such a variety of objects to conjecture..........

    I see something there , but it could be anything from corrosion or dirt . I don't collect IHC but is there a S number for that date and the 2nd 8 ?

    @green18- Clouds? Your 65 and from NY like me. You're going to sit there and tell me if you look at a 55 Lincoln (and I don't meant continental), long enough, it doesn't turn into a double die?? It does for me!
