Are there any ways of finding a graded coin by cert number?

I am trying to track down a certain coin graded by NGC. Are there any ways to search by cert number on ebay, or to search and see if it is in any data base or collection or anything?

You can use the NGC Cert look-up. It's free.

Go to Google.com and search for:

    (cert no) (tpg) site:eBay.com

should work if the cert number was provided when the coin was listed

I have the cert number, and know how to find it on the ngc website. I am trying to see if there is anyway to look up who owns it now.. like maybe search registry sets or something?

I'm not sure how NGC does their registry set, but here's one I graded by PCGS and now it belong to this registry set .

    CERT VERIFICATION #15084554
According to the PCGS Certification Database, the requested certification number is defined as the following:

    PCGS Coin Information
    PCGS # 409725
    Date, mintmark 2009-P
    Denomination $1
    Variety Zachary Taylor Position B
Country The United States of America
    Grade MS67
    Holder Type Standard
    Population
    9
    PCGS Price GuideSM Value: $250

    Current PCGS Registry Sets:
This cert is currently in SonoranMonsoon Set Registry inventory and is featured in one or more sets, including Sonoran Monsoon.

I don't think any tpg would give out that information even if they could . Also with people selling coins and cracking them out I would think it would be next to impossible to know .

This is the kind of info I am looking for, but with NGC. Anyone know if a cert number can be searched to see if it is in a registry set there?

Have you looked at the top sets for the coin in question. Yes it's a long shot but sometimes extra effort is rewarded.
