Oh, and "please" post any/all of your cool archaic coins ... or any super cool animal coins that you think I might like ... man, I love seeing your coins!! Yah, I'm pretty easy and there'll be zero-judging on my part!! cheers, coin-gang!!
CNG Auction? I think I almost bid on that same coin if that's the case, but instead decided to go for three others. Bad decision, I ended up getting outbid on all of them. Divide your assets and lose. Anyway, awesome coin Stevex. Your collection is the holy grail of ancient animal coins.
Thanks fellas ... yah, the look on the pig's face was definitely the main reason that I fell for this cool archaic coin (priceless) ... well, I guess I did pay a fairly heavy price, but you know what I mean, right?
ahahaha => yes, they are the Roy Orbison of the ancient cow coins, eh? *Pretty Cow, walkin' down the street*
Coincidentally, I also acquired a Thomas Cederlind coin from this last Printed Auction. The coin from Thomas Cederlind, the coin I especially chose from the Thomas Cederlind collection. Thomas Cederlind's coin. BOEOTIA, Federal Coinage. Circa 304-294 BC. AR Drachm (19mm, 5.62 g). Boeotian shield / Amphora within incuse square. BCD Boiotia 62; HGC 4, 1164. VF, toned, traces of find patina, light scratch under tone in field on obverse. Apparently, Boeotian drachms are fairly rare. This same coin sold for a lot more back in 2001. Maybe they have found several more since then?
Cool Boetia coin, iamtib ... => I have this humble stater example Boeotia, Thebes AR Stater Date: 363-338 BC Diameter: 21.5 mm Weight: 11.8 grams Obverse: Boeotian shield Reverse: Amphora, KA-LLI across field; all within incuse concave circle Reference: BCD Boiotia 555
https://www.peus-muenzen.de/Homepage.AxCMS?ActiveID=1067 Congrats on the new coin, Steve! That's one ornery-looking boar .
Thanks for the Peus-info, Princess => oh, and thanks for your assistance with helping me pick it out!! It went for less than twice the initial estimate (not a super deal by any means, but I had lots left in the ol' bid-tank, so I was happy to escape at today's hammer-price!!)
