I’ve completed a number of the folders I was working on. I have a couple more and they are close to being completed. So I took a look at what I have and asked myself, What’s next? The answer was simple, to complete a cent folder with lower grade coins from 1909 to 1940. I have just over 5000 Wheat Ear Cents that I’ve had for over 12 years and never looked at a single one of them. Yes it’s a lot to look through but it’s fun and I am a collector. I do hoard coins but that’s another subject. So here is my new folder and the only coin in it is a 1926 that my wife received in her change from buying something we probably didn’t need. I’ve had it about 2 months and I’ve just been waiting for the right time to use it. With my upcoming surgery, now is a good time to start plugging holes. I have all the key and semi key dates in a slab and in much better condition than what I’ll be putting in here. I’m not a variety collector but I have some of the major varieties in this series.
How dare the wife out buying things she doesn't need when you could use that money for coins. I presume that 5000 number is not a typo. It really is 5000 isn't it?
Yeah I have at least 5000 Wheat Cents so it’s time to go through them. I may even have more than that. Just like it says under my CT name, I’m definitely a Borderline Hoarder. Lol
I started one of these in the late 60’s-early 70’s. Finally plugged the last holes in the early 2000’s. I don’t show the book here because is is a humble teenager’s collection of wheat cents. Still have the book. Yeah, Dave… You need to fill that one.
1 down and 89 to go. Lol. I’m not buying any of them until I search all of my Wheat Cents. And I’ve got a ton of them. I was 5 years old when Memorial Cents started but I kept every Wheat I got my hands on.
This is exactly why I am not offering to send you any of the 12 rolls of wheat backs I just won at an obscure auction. LOL Good luck on going through your stash. 1909 S VDB coming up.
I think you’re getting testy in your old age. LOL Glad you have a sense of humor like I do. Take care my friend.
