    There are a number of "private mints" that issue medals for direct sales to consumers.

    It's definitely more of a silver color than the photos look. Even though it says .999 it don't feel very heavy like silver should

    The OPs medal has a really "spooky" look to it. It's not flattering of Kennedy at all. Almost looks like a Death Mask. Paddyman's profile is only a "little" better. I thought the Mint did a good job on Kennedy's likeness, but the down glancing pose was a mistake in my view. I know Jackie picked it, still, bad choice. Jack
