    Sorry about the sideways image.

Pretty good day today, spent $25 on the stuff. Good coins don't have to be expensive.

Thanks, it's the most I can spend on a coin because I'm trying to save up money. Extremely happy with the coin in my collection.

Half dime's are one of my favorite series. Lot's of bang for the buck.

Just think how many high priced Morgan's have a higher survival rate than your half dime. I'm sure there are fewer survivors than even the 1909 SVDB or16D Merc:)

    PCGS CoinFacts says:
    09 SVDB: 50000 survivors
    16-D Merc: 10000 survivors
    1871-S half dime: 600 survivors

Christian Gobrecht designs are criminally underrated, both Seated Liberty and Liberty Head gold.

Morgans, have a large collector base, because there are enough genuine & nicer examples to maintain a strong market for them....I'm of the mindset that eventually, A coins popular-ity will run out.( Looking at you 16'D) As the wheel in the sky keeps on turning, don't know where we'll be tommorow. Well, you know the rest.......

Too bad they cleaned it. A very underrated date in an underrated series

Bah, 600 survivors? You can get 19th century proofs with mintages under 600 for not a crazy amount of money compared to 09-SVDBs and 16-Ds in comparable grade.

No kidding. A 16 -d in au-58 about the same price as a 78-cc trade dollar the key to theseries. Est survival of 16-d 10k 78-cc 350. There's 58 16-d in au 58. There's less than that in all grades higher of the78-cc

A s vdb or a 16 d are both coins I've never owned and have absolutely no desire to. Only way I'd ever buy one a for a client

Not to mention, 16-Ds are wicked expensive in Mint State, yet they were saved when they came out.

Citation needed. I hear people say this, but then nobody can reconcile it with the fact that the 09-SVDB has about double the mintage, yet is easily 20x more common in mint state.

Very true. But a cent was a lot less money than a dime in those days. And during the depression many people couldn't afford to save anything regardless of rarity
