    I received a bag of uncleaned roman coins as a gift. They were picked up at a pawn shop, so I don't have any info or source. The 20 coins were all completely corroded. I soaked them in olive oil for 3 months to clean them. They all are totally corroded beyond even slight identification, so I don't have a clue what era these coins are from. Only one coin has any markings what so ever. It looks vaguely familiar, but I can't place it. Can anybody help me out?

    I almost forgot. 2.1 grams and just under a centimeter square.

    Looks eastern, perhaps Islamic?
    I honestly would not know where to begin searching with this coin.
    @Quant.Geek Might have a better idea of what this is.

    Looks like India but may not be ancient. Mogul?

    I'm thinking maybe Delhi Sultans Billon Tanka. Around 1500 AD ish.

    @THCoins is good with these.

    Not enough readable for me to pinpoint. Not Sultans of Delhi though, looks later and more Western.

    I think if you turn the coin 90 degrees clockwise or even counter clockwise, then I'm almost sure there is Arabic lettering there. I can read this even now. So my guess is an Islamic coin or more plausible Indian States of Islamic rule or population.
