Today I got my first rolls at the bank. I got 22$ dollars worth of nickels. One of the rolls consisted of nickels form the 50's. Here's what i got from all 12 rolls. Canadian (1)1989
You be one lucky dude! I count about 1 in 10 from 1960 or before!!! Don't plan on that each time!!! BTW, I think the most valuable are the VF-AU ones. I think a lot of people are always looking for the old ones. I think it's a much bigger deal to find those slightly older jeffersons in AU shape. You might want to turn the unwanted nickels in soon and hit the same bank again - maybe you'll get lucky with another 50's roll.
It's funny you say that, because when we were in the car leaving the bank I saw the roll labeled 1950 and when I had opened it, sure enough it was full of 50's. Anyways, my brother siad "turn around!!: on the way back he bought 40 dollars worth of nickels, not a single roll like mine. Yes I think it would be a good idea to do that.
After yesterday, I can see why people often favorite nickels. I think I'm addicted to roll searching.
