I've just found a 1943 steel cent along with 3 Wheaties and a Canadian in one roll. (the look on my face!) Is there anything I should know about taking care of this steel cent or should I just put it in my container with all my other Wheaties?

    Thanks!

    Welcome to the forum. :)

If it's just an average circulated steelie, you don't really have to do anything besides keep it away from moisture.

An AirTite holder would be a great start.
Zinc oxidizes easily in moist air.

I have some shiny ones that have stayed protected in intercept shield albums and holders. How they made it that long without protection I have no idea. Most people have never seen a steel cent much less what they originally looked like.
