Do you see the box/area below where you would type your response? Right below there's a button labeled "upload a file".... there you go.

The coin is damaged... was hit with something. Post mint damage. Still worth a cent, though ;)

I am going to assume that this is a legitimate question, so to answer your question in good faith, the coins pictured are damaged PMD, or (post mint damage)

Here are some quick links that may assist you on the way to learning. you will also find a wealth of info and pictures on the web, however obviously dont take all on the internet as gospel.

Generally PMD or Post mint damage is: any nick, cut, slash, jab, bang, ding, scrape, scratch, etc. that occurred on a coin's surface after the striking.

Generally the mints have "some" quality control over what leaves their facility (some more than others) However the Mint errors are generally going to be a bit more subtle. However there are the more extreme errors but not very prevalent.
Look through the forums here and you may also get a lot of your questions answered.

    First, welcome to the neighborhood!

You need to learn how the minting process works. Otherwise, you will be asking the same question, "How did this happen?", over and over and over again. Almost any book on error coins will provide a basic explanation of how the minting process works.

My mistake. I myself am an avid coin role Hunter so let me try this again welcome to coin role hunting, almost all of the coins i display on coin talk are from coin rolls. Even have a couple on cuds on coins those were definitely found in rolls, and I was just informed by Wexler the one I submitted to him was a new variety also found in a roll. I'm not one to give advice, speaking for myself, if I see a coin that just does not look right I keep it and try to research what I found. There is so much information out there on the Internet it's made it a little easier to find the information you may need to explain what you have. There are a lot of nice members on coin talk, that will gladly help you identify what you may have. And help you pursue your gold in error coin hunting. I see that you have already been given some excellent advice. I will close by saying keep coin role hunting, it's like open and a box of Chocolates you never know what you're going to find.:blackalien:\V/
