I just looked through buy it now coins on ebay and saw several Canadian silver coins (common thankfully) artificially toned by this guy. He has a peace dollar as his icon so he probably does it to all coins. The fact that all his for sale coins look similar and exemplify artificial toning (bizarre toning, bright colors, etc) leaves no doubt in my mind he's doing this. For instance, he has a common Canadian 1960 quarter for 25, see below. One half dollar I think was even 40. Do you think people are buying them knowing they are AT and like them, or are they oblivious (I hope not since it's so obvious). Some of his coins look like one puked on them
Yep, I've seen them. This person has some coins that look NT, but they're generally pretty tame looking. I also suspect the photos are seriously juiced.
The 5 or so I saw all had suspicious toning like the one above or even more so. It's bad enough ruining these coins (at least in my opinion) but to mark them up so high seems bad too. It's unbelievable he has over 700 feedback, all positive! That leads me to believe again his buyers knowingly bought AT coins or are plain ignorant. Would you buy an AT coin if you liked it? Most of his currently listed Jefferson nickels look ok. There are a couple that are too "out there" to be NT, but most of them look good. A couple of his Kennedy halves look ok, but most of those look AT.
