Steve, that's a very nice 'Totem Pole Dollar' you have got there.I have yet to get one of those. You do realise that this coin is unpopular with the Native Canadians of British Columbia,as it contains the symbol of a raven, which,to them represents death. The raven is located near the top of the totem pole. Aidan.
Yes I had heard that but then again some Indians would look at it as a spirit guide so not all bad :smile
Steve, the Native Canadians of British Columbia are the only ones who build totem poles. The design is very appropriate. Aidan.
A few more to my Canadian collection 5c 1950 1c 1938 1939 1941 My one cent collection is now coming along rather well
Steve, that's a nice lot of Canadian King George VI coins that you have got there. There are several obverse subtypes that were issued between 1950 & 1952.It is mainly to do with the relief on the King's portrait. Aidan.
I'll have to dig out all of my Canadian pieces and shoot some pics. I know I have a 1932 Beaver Nickel, it could be a 35 though.
Ohhhh, well you learn something new every day. I don't know much concerning Canadian coins. I have several from cheap auction lots and such. I'll try to snap some pics, so that you all might let me know if I have anything that is desirable.
That's why you've got us to fall back on. I learn a lot just by showing up here and reading everyone else's posts. Probably too much, judging from the emptyness of my wallet.
I just recently bought some Canadian 5 cent - Im interested in nickel .99 Still haven't received them yet 1922-1940 missing 1925, 2926 n&f-6, 1930, 1934 and 1940. Still checking ebay for them - maybe not ready to spend the money for the 1925 right now thou. I also order the book Grading Canadian Coins - maybe should have got the book first hey That is a nice collection you have
