I went to their website and if I am understanding it correctly, in order to submit a coin you need to go through a "submission center". So I would need to contact the submission center? Is that correct?

You just need someone who is a member whether it be a dealer a member or yourself.

Should add a collector member or yourself is the better route. Dealers get charged for everything they submit to CAC, CAC only charges collectors for what stickers.

The CAC folks are very nice and will get back to you if you send them a message through their website! I've submitted items through dealers and as a collector member - all good. If you are able to get a collector membership you can submit things in person if you happen to be in the area. I've done that, and it was a very pleasant experience - albeit that particular day I only got one sticker out of about 5 coins - but I've had good days as well as bad days with them in that regard :)

I thought you were one of our resident CAC bashers? Perhaps you finally come around to the fact that there can be value in them thar stickers? ;)

A buddy knows a guy that works at one of the BIG auction houses. He can submit coins to pcgs or cac for me through his friend and he swears they are more liberal with the coins he sends in through them. I haven't taken him up on his offer to send whatever I want yet but I will whenever I get around to figuring out what I want stickered.

I wonder why cac doesn't allow new membership. Can they not handle the volume or what?

Everyone says that about every grading service largely because they're blinded by ownership of their own coins.

    They do allow new members

Cac allows new members to sign up with direct submitting privileges?

Yes unless they've done away with it they have a waiting list they accept new members off

There is value in them stickers for sellers. My sentiment remains the same in that stickers are not beneficial for buyers who are paying a premium for the sticker.

A waiting list? Why, to artificially keep up demand for a product that I believe is unnecessary? What are they, appraisers of appraisals?

I'm waiting for the TPGC '"Approved CAC" with Honors' before I will feel comfortable :)

How does a membership waiting list artificially keep demand up? Their demand is real sorry.

It's to keep the turn around times short and they send out Christmas gifts every year to members. Would you want everyone and their mother signing up at will for the free gift?

If I were CAC I don't know that I would want everyone to sign up but their mothers are all welcomed ;)

There certainly is "value" for sellers, but to dismiss as simply being some sort of gimmick for buyers is, with all due respect, foolish, particularly for one wishing to sell said stickers to their buyers. Even though it's common practice to dismiss the general premiums CAC achieves as being due to the sticker, the fact is that many coins deserve said premiums based solely upon their own merits. In cases where the premium is unwarranted, CAC cannot rightfully be blamed; buyer ignorance is at fault and in ways no different from when slabbed dreck is purchased believing it to be PQ. Even though this cannot be said so much for those buying already-stickered coins, the "value" (in context, of course) CAC offers to member collectors is unequaled in this hobby, not only because of the educational experience submitting can provide, but the upside offered is well worth the meager price of admission.

As with most anything in life, the true "value" in or of something all comes down to how we choose to look at it. Put yourself on the list for collector membership; if/when the time comes, and once you've a little direct experience with them, I would be very surprised if you didn't rethink your present position.

Increased membership equates to an increase in CAC stickers on slabs. Once those flood gates are opened, see what happens to demand...it's called dilution.

I'm pretty sure there's a few members here who can submit. I'm pretty sure @C-B-D just got authorized to submit to CAC.

But yea you can't simply just submit your coins like PCGS/NGC.
