    I just recently started collecting coins and I'm really interested in the seleukids. I want to try to collect all the rulers and see all of yours. Ive only got two so far hopefully many more to come.

    My first which i will one day upgrade to a much better one but it got me into the Seleukids

    SELEUKID EMPIRE. Seleukos II Kallinikos. 246-225 BC. AR Tetradrachm (27mm, 16.39 g, 12h). Sardes mint. Struck circa 246-245/2 BC. Diademed head right, with curly sideburn / Apollo standing left, testing arrow and leaning on tall tripod; monograms to inner left and inner right. kallinikos.jpg

    Minted in Antioch - for some reason I didn't weigh and measure that coin.

    I chose these 3 Seleukid coins. The first has Antiochos I on obverse, with Apollo sitting on Omphalos at reverse SC 351. The 2 others have both Apollo on obverse, but in different style. VF, toned, some porosity, scratches and marks.

Diademed head right / Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow and bow; monogram to outer left, ∆I to outer right. SC 571.1a; HGC 9, 238o. VF, find patina, light deposits, light scratches and marks, some roughness. A double strike and some deposits obscure the outer left monogram on the reverse.

    Seleukids aren't in my collecting area at all, but an humble and small bronze lays in my trays
