Is this yet another machine doubling? It's across the tops of all the letters in In God We Trust. Thank you.

I think what your seeing is called Die Deterioration Doubling.

 

I concur with @2Old it looks like die deterioration doubling. It is very common and not actually an error. It comes from the die being used over and over and wearing down.

 

Die deterioration. I used to think doubled also.

 

No, that's nothing. It's a little curved up there, that's why that slip-up sometimes happens.
