You are looking at a coin that has been used and abused.

It's just damage. There is no way to know for sure what caused it. Too many things are possible.

What's a train reject? A train that ran over a coin?

Don, whenever you see anything incused and reversed into a coin that should not be there it is most likely Post Mint Damage.
Sorry but your Cent is not an Error coin. I have seen these many times in the 30 years of collecting error and variety coins.

PMD, otherwise know as a train wrecked coin. It's been hit by so many trains I can't count them all. :)

He means the reverse CENT on the jacket of Lincoln. This is a squeeze job. Or maybe it says UNITED, but whatever it is, it's reversed, so it's obviously a squeeze job.

Yes, for one. And as the other's have already mentioned, the reverse UNI. . .lettering across the mid obverse bust area. Thank you all for your educating me on this stuff, I am learning a great deal from you all. . .and when I find that 1943 copper cent, or maybe that '92 CAM I will TRY to remain as greatful and humble as I am now. . .hahaha.
