I don't have one either. I never really paid that much attention to the Loonies. I just wish they didn't show wear so quickly. I don't think they hold up very well in circulation.

Which of the 2006 Toonies? There are 3 different versions in 2006

    1) "Standard" Toonie - date on bottom, polar bear reverse
    2) "New Mintmark" Toonie - Date on top, new mintmark on bottom, polar bear reverse
    3) "10th Anniversary" Toonie, double-dated 1996-2006, Polar bears are looking into the sky with the Northern Lights.

I'd post pics, but my scanner doesn't like this pc. I really need to fix that up when we get to the new house.

I haven't seen the double-date with the old reverse. Going to have to keep my eyes out for that one. Just what we needed, a FOURTH variety for 2006.

I was thinking of starting a Loonie and Toonie collection since they don't go back very far and can be had for face value. Just the thought of 4 different Toonies for 2006, though........

Chris,I can guess that you will have to post photos of the 3 2006 Twoonies that you do have.Cindy has already posted photos of the 10th anniversary one, which is RARE.

    Aidan,

The 10th Anniversary one isn't rare, but I'm guessing the 10th Anniversary with the standard reverse may be. Unfortunately, it will probably be a couple of years until we really know how many were minted.

    Here are your pics:
    1) "Standard" Toonie - date on bottom, polar bear reverse

    2) "New Mintmark" Toonie - Date on top, new mintmark on bottom, polar bear reverse.

    3) "10th Anniversary" Toonie, double-dated 1996-2006, Polar bears are looking into the sky with the Northern Lights.

4)"10th Anniversary" Toonie double-dated, but with original reverse.

I'm guessing it may not be as rare as we might think. Nevertheless, we have four varieties for that year alone now.
