Anyone have one of these? The TPGS's have been alerted. They have been sold on Ebay.

First I've heard of 'em. Altered date?

Two coins put together but not the usual "cup & saucer." I heard that this time they kept the field and rim intact and joined two coins. The "cut" is 1/4 into the width of the edge. Waiting to see one posted. I told one of the purchasers to send photos to CW and NN. He is trying to get his money back.

I inspected such a coin at the CSNS show, but did not get to take a picture of it. The obverse rim showed a definite seam under magnification as one might expect from trying to repair a splice on a Zincoln. The obverse and reverse alignment were correct.

That makes sense. It boggles my mind to attempt to alter surface metal on a Zlincoln. :)

:muted: Glad you caught that yourself - my fingers were real itchy! :angelic:

Oh, it's probably possible, but problematic since zinc melts so much more quickly than copper. :)

I live in "Realville" so IMO it is probably NOT possible as the copper clad layer would be destroyed.:angelic: In this case (as usual) the fakers took the easy way out and used two genuine halves. Next, we'll probably see die-struck C/F's of these coins.

It's probably much easier for a doctor, all they need to remove the plating.
