I've got the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Home (Premium). Ponied up to it a few years ago for $25.........they never asked me for another dime. I don't know what the program goes for now.
That's not bad at all. It sounds like a one time fee for the up grade. I have Webroot originally through Best Buy. The renewals are now direct with Webroot.
Rick; I thought malware is a contaminant that comes from a variety of different programs and sources. How could they all be linked to know this? Aren't they independent to start with? Maybe my understanding isn't clear.
They can read all incoming downloads and etc. The program will contain them first, then delete after containment ...
Is the "program" the malware or the installed security to fight it? If the later, then no problem. My security quarantines it forever unless I tell it to delete it. Once quarantined, all efforts the malware makes to reinstall itself, go there as well. That's why I chose Webroot.
It works like a anti-virus program, just better . I have a mini dell, so I just download the free program, run it, then uninstall when I'm done with it . I do this every 2 months or so, their always updating the program anyways ....
I built the system I'm currently posting from last October. Only this thread reminded me I'd never actually installed Malwarebytes on it - or anything else for that matter - so I downloaded it and scanned. Nothing I didn't already know about (know the enemy....), of course.
