Nice find with the 39. I think that ties with my best nickel find so far too.

Got a nice 39 P in change a few weeks back. I haven't been roll hunting in a while. I need to go by the bank. With gas prices going up, I suspect a lot of people cashing in their jars soon.

Went through $50 in dimes tonight, looking for that elusive 1970. Found a the usual few Roosevelts, an Eastern Carribean 10c, and a 1968 silver, but no 1970. I'm heading back to that bank to see if there were more dimes from that batch.

when everything gets high, people roll their coins up, or cash in their grandmals or grampals coin collection. now is the time to search.

my bank sucks for rolls. all coins coming into the bank are put into a coin counter/sorter machine which prints a receipt that is given to the teller. the rolls handed out are processed by Dunbar and are anyone's guess. yesterday i picked up 2 rolls of nickels and all of them looked like they had spent time on a grinding wheel. both rolls. oldest coin was 1959D, most of the coins were 2001-2003.

the days of getting hand rolled coins at my bank are over and thus the chance of scoring big. :(

    edit: nickels not dimes

Why are you complaining? You got silver.

my mistake - they were rolls of nickels, not dimes. no caffeine yet.

I'm on my third cup, so, okay, I can understand that.

the sad part was i was ready to laugh at you for thinking a 1959-D nickel was silver. good thing i re-read my post first to figure out why you thought i got silver. time for caffeine.

i also searched 3 rolls of dimes yesterday and the oldest of those was a 1966 in rough shape. i might pickup a few more rolls next week, i need 11 nickels and 9 dimes to complete my "from circulation" folders. i doubt i'll find silver from the Dunbar rolls - their machine probably kicks them out since they are worth more as melt.

i'm glad the bank i get rolls from dosn't have a coin counter machine. i like custormer rolls because you seem to find more. i'd stick with the nickel rolls. if you want silver, try half dollar. on average, you would get 1 silver dime out of 20 rolls. oh, rotobeast, good find on the 1939! they made alot of those 1939's is it a P D,or S?
