I'm not buying coins, not buying coins, i bought some coins , i'm saving up for a new roof this spring, got my tax return back and is going to help with that expense, so Wednesday night at our club meeting, i went crazy. 2 Ancients and some gold. My guy, travels to Europe on business, he came back with a bunch of new coins. i'll just say that there finding hoards that are not in the news, he was able to buy over 50 of these coins from a large lot. Constantine, here's 8 of them. High quality.. also he bought some Ar denarius.. I did buy two coins, this one's not from this hoard..( going to try Pish's recipe on this one). i have a couple of these, but i love the zoo series. This one came from that top group.(don't ask were there from i don't know). all these coins are in great shape, paid south of a $100 for both Ancient coins and also bought some gold. love the dragon slayer, no this wasn't from any hoard. Back to the Wagon, ya right!!! Please post any of your off the Wagons buys!!!
Wow! You fell off the wagon in a BIG way! Looks like a great group-- congrats Edited: Oh, I read chrsmat's post and reread yours. Still, three excellent new coins .
NICE ENG! at first i thought you bought ALL those coins...now THAT would be awesome! well, i'd say since you only bought three you showed considerable constraint...and good taste. bravos sir.
US collector just passing through to see what you got. Get you a few pails to catch the leaks from the roof and keep buying coins.
That's a wonderful 'hoard' of coins !!! I'd be sooo tempted to buy more than three @Eng I congratulate you on your 'discipline' and especially those three absolutely terrific coins!! I can't post any off the wagon posts since after just purchasing two additional RR denarii I'm just going ON the wagon again (LOL). I will post this Domitian example just preceding it---unfortunately, the main reason it appealed to me is the same reason it disappoints me. The reverse, it is suggested, depicts Domitian as he rode in his Fathers (and Titus') triumph in 71 AD over the Jews.....
Nice wagon fall. I would enjoy those bagged ancients more. And great on the gold. Nice Domitian, Mikey.
@Eng I dont know how you showed such restraint, I applaud you going nuts.Well played brother. EDIT: Love the Perth.
Thanks all, haven't been posting a lot lately, working in my garden, some fishing and went panning for gold, stayed in a tee-pee and froze to death, 30 degrees. water was high, not much gold. Do have a couple of extra buckets for rain water, which rains a lot around here. Masternoob i think its (S) for Sidney, Australia, in my World coin book for the 1915 S Sovereign has a mintage of just 1346. Mikey, great coin, Wagons not so bad..just make sure you fall off once in a while.
Great coins Eng. Like others I would like to get my hands on those denarii. Nice Domitian MZ, I was just looking at one of those yesterday...so tempting.
Panning for gold sounds like a fun way to spend the day, although not when combined with freezing temperatures . 1346K (1,346,000). That's still considered low for a modern issue, right? Regardless of numbers, that's a beautiful design
Very cool coins, Eng => it's always awesome to here from you Oh, and very cool lookin' teepee (ummm, although you might get roughed-up a bit if you tried convincing the locals to invest in your winter home) ... I'm just sayin'
