This is absolutely hilarious. Item number: 300117570633 I offered him $5 with a message: "Buddy, this coin is not worth more than the silver's melt value." No response yet...ROFL :mouth:!

Could you ask him to make the picture a little blurrier? I can actually make out that it's a coin.

Wow, Some people are just plain nuts! Have to wonder what the other offers were. Besides your offer (was it one of the ones declined?) how could anyone offer more than melt for that?

Based on the photos it could be a bad knockoff from China (I know that's doubtfull - but for what you can see - it could be).

    I can't imagine why.
Of course, maybe it's the case that puts the auction $300,000 over the value of the coin. I bet it's a really, really nice case!

It's unfortunate that there are people who are gullible enough to make it worth this sellers time to offer such a ludicrous item.
I'd like to find this guy and have an old fashioned blanket party

Except for the fact that it is costing him a lot of money just to list the auction.

This one's somewhat close. http://coins.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Inventory_No=800010295#Photo I've seen a similar one (1895 PR66DCAM) sell for nearly $150,000. And an 1893-S in MS67 is valued at $800,000. But that 1889 is 33,000 times overpriced.

    He's got a 2000-P Golden Dollar for $500. LOL

BTW, He declined my offer of $2.00 So, now I'm going down to $1.99 Let's see what he says to that!

    Laundering Money

Could this guy be laundering money through these sales? It could be a good way to show some real income...but I would think it would still cause a red flag or two.
