http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...ndexURL=0&photoDisplayType=2#ebayphotohosting South Western Collectibles Grading They named their grading service after themselves. at least they are descriptive: Comes in a coin world slab with our opinion of the grade, "AU - Obverse / AU - Reverse - Holed" (Other than some bag maks, minimal wear on Liberty's head and on the feathers of the reverse eagle)
Frank,it sounds like another one of those alphabet scumburger 'TPGs' - a self-slabber like Aboncom & Scumburger 'Grading' 'Service'! Aidan.
At least the seller admits that he graded it himself. The hole is obvious enough. What are the odds that it is a holed counterfeit?
Hmmm, it looks OKay to me. Accurately described and the price seems alright. Someone will drop $50 on it. Maybe Lord Marcovan, the Holey Coin Collecter... Ben
I can't rip them too bad as they were up front about it. Seems to be a developing trend. Slab your own coins but let people know that you did. I don't think it's quite AU but not a bad looking coin. Now, should we see a bunch of other sellers listing their slabs it will become a different story most likely.
I guess it's the devil or the deep blue sea.... Like has been said, at least they're honest about it. I think this is better than what you ALWAYS see: "Well, I'd grade this XF+, but I'm not a professional grader, no siree. I won't be held responsible either. Just thought I'd throw XF in the title, but I don't really know what I'm doing. Oh and by the way, did I say I got this from my Grandpa about ...... " and so on and so forth...
Still no bids... Heck I might bid on it, but we're leaving for a mini-vacation on Thursday, "oh well..."
I think the slab is pretty honest, and the dealer also so. Price is a tiny bit high, I would be saying $35 for that one.
