God morning together☕️ what is this damage on the edge of the coin 1972D called? And the other one l thing this is a die clash? For our help many thanks
The 1985 is a minor mint error called a Misaligned Die Strike. The 1972 is a Rim Cud. Die break issue caused by Die Deterioration.
Could just be my eyes (and the stuff I'm taking) but could that 1972 possibly be a folded/flattened rim fin? @paddyman98 @Terwie, you've been a member here long enough that I'm sure you've seen the links posted to many helpful sites, that can educate you about these things. I understand a semi-numismatist only jumping on this site when they have a question about a strange coin, and that's fine. We are more than happy to try and help, but we encourage that same individual to learn about these differences in coins.
Like @paddyman98 said, MAD & Rim Cud Only ever found one rim cud, a dime. If I find a pic I’ll post it
