Scooped this off eBay recently because I could see what I thought may be a significant rpm. It looks shelf-like, resembling MD, so I'm thinking it may just be the result of a very well placed hit. Here is a photo of my coin: Below is an image from variety vista. It's labeled as D/D rotated CW
The image from VarietyVista shows clear separation on the left upper and lower serif points of the D. Due to lighting, we cannot see those splits, just what looks like machine doubling on the right side. So...we request better photos
Here's a side by side and it's not even close . Look at the center of each " D " .. Here's a 1973-D Ike Dollar I own and it's RPM-2 . Look how good everything matches up .
I agree, the mint marks don't match each other. But what is going on with my coin? Is it an RPM or something else? I can get more pictures up later today.
Shouldn't there be evidence of md elsewhere, rather than only on the mm? I checked the whole coin and that's only only place I saw it
