I saw an ad in the paper about buying an uncirc. roll of washington Dollars for $88.Supposed to be from the "vault". They are calling them "Ballistic Rolls". Is or would this be worth the money? Thanks, Bilvis
Basically, no. 1. We assume that all the quarters are 1964 or before - MUST have that, otherwise it's NO deal 2. Are they REALLY uncirculated? 3. If the answers to 1 and 2 are "yes", then how much is shipping and handling? I bet it isn't free and is probably $14.95 or something like that. 4. Are you automatically signing up for any other special deals? If you were to go to a coin show, you should be able to pick up 40 uncirculated washingtons of dates between 1958 - 1964 for just a couple dollars more than that. And of course, you get to choose and see the coins first and there is no shipping and handling!!! Plus you're supporting the local coin collecting infrastructure.
Pocket Change,Bilvis is referring to the George Washington Presidential Dollar, not the Quarter. Aidan.
Aiden, his post says: "...uncirc. roll of washington qtrs. for $88". I assume that "qtrs" means quarters
Sorry,I didn't realise that.It was the title of the thread that caught me out,as is to me being tired. Aidan.
I saw that ad A LOAD OF BS is what it was, a $50 roll of dollars selling for $88, rip off! All you pay for is a stupid box.
Saw the same ad and I had to laugh......if you are as bored as i was yesterday and read the accompanying article, it also goes on to say that the mint has ceased all minting operations of the dollar coins.... Now I could see it being a hair shady, but honest, if it said Washignton dollars were never to be minted again....that is true...but is says all dollar coins are done for....lol
