cool mint error. would that be considered a cud error? or was the die damaged? wonder if this is a one of a kind?
The crack of dawn is my best time for lighting, at least for the natural lighting . There's also no overhead lighting, because the lighting in the morning at my kitchen table is very neutral ( + - ) ..
A cud, by definition, only occurs at the rim of the coin. This is an interior die break, popularly called a "chip" because it didn't occur in conjunction with a crack. I like "snow" better than the alternatives.
Correct, to be qualified as a Interior Die Break, the area of question has to measure 4 square millimeters ... What's with this Metric system, standard please ........
I'm in the wrong here, but in my head I've always defined a "die break" to be a later-state die crack which has opened/catastrophically failed into a greater "width" dimension. Error-ref includes chips like this within the overall definition of "die break."
I should take some full shots and start an auction on ebay for it .. Wouldn't bring enough money in for fees, I think .
It depends on your choice of words. I had a die break on the brim of John Muir's hat (2005 CA SQ) that I called Condor Doo Doo. Chris
