If it is a lincoln cent, since this occurred before interest in DD varieties was well established, most are circulated. On eBay there are many un-slabbed listed , but I have only seen 1 or 2 that was possibly such. Here is a page from coppercoins.com showing the characteristics.
    http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1917&die_id=1917p1do001&die_state=mds

Since there is only one die , a cent must match. I use the date as a starting place, as the curl end of the '9' and the horizontal of the '7' are easily seen as DD, with almost equal height of the doubled sides. Notice the top of the '7' is doubled vertically. Most I see on eBay are Machine doubled on the right side of the number, and not a DDO. If by some chance, that area is possible, I carefully check the lettering according to the same page. If after doing so, you think you're good, get a photo up for further evaluation.
