I just saw a coin listed on-line as having been graded and certified by "PCGS Collectors' Society." Is there a difference between them and PCGS itself? Are coins so designated more or less valuable than others? Thanks for your responses!

    Do you have a link?

I've never heard of this and I'm sure one doesn't exist.

The "Collector's Society" is what you pay to join in order to directly submit coins to PCGS. 10 to 1 the seller is an ignorant newbie.

found out...the Collectors Society collects PCGS graded coins. There is also another society for NGC graded

Thanks for all the great help! The link was on ebay under a silver eagle search. It expired w/o being sold, and as of the moment it is not listed. If I see it again, I'll post it for everyone to see. Thanks again everybody!

My guess is hat what he saw was a silver eagle that was in a slab labeled PCGS Collectors Society. From 2002 to about 2004 these were given as a premium to people who joined the PCGS collectors Society. In 2001 they used a different lable and the holder with a US Flag and it contained a NY state quarter. After 2004 they stopped doing this I believe. There is an error variety in the silver eagle type as well which has a 2004 date on the slab and a 2001 date on the coin

Collectors Society is what NGC calls its online meeting place/forums/etc.

Collectors Universe is the parent company of PCGS.

The "PCGS Collectors' Society." is a free membership on the PCGS webpage.
    No big deal.
