Hi - I don't any experience with these but is it typical to look as if it has been plated with a golden brass?

I know it is not indicative of anything but I ran this coin under my metal detector and it read very low (in the nickel range).

Can anyone provide me with more info about it? Thank you!

    Sized about 18mm-19mm & 2.7g.

    Looks OK, just badly cleaned.

Yep, that's what I thought as well---harshly cleaned, patina removed and almost down to the actual metal/coloring....but still a cool coin.

Ditto. BTW, are you seeking reference information?

Thanks all :) Yes I would love a reference! I haven't been able to find another with the same mintmark. Is that Trier?

    Yes, Trier.
RIC IX Trier 7b type iii(a); rated R in RIC which means very little.

Thank you! I google searched that attribution and did find a couple mentions but no photos of another so perhaps it really is somewhat rare...?

Well this thread does contain photos of a naked coin! :)
