Not sure if I posted this one before. One of my favorite coins. It was glowing in a register at work and I got it for ten cents. It's the best toned coin I have ever found circulating. It resides in my 7070. That was a good day.
Here's a rare one. PCGS calls it the "Pattern Reverse." Different star and lettering placement. One of just 3 graded by NGC in all grades!
Some of you know that I have a thing for 81s. Well here's my favorite. It's a tidy house toner (I still have the card) with full electric-blue coverage on obverse pl fields. A real stunner in hand that I bought from bad (dark) Internet pics for the whopping sum of $50. You may have seen it before but I had Todd Pollock of BluCC do his camera thing with it at long beach. The second pic is the most true to in-hand as it likes to photograph dark yet is anything but ...
Oh, a question... Have you guys seen this "smudgey" type of color pattern my 81s above exhibits (second pic) much before. Can't say I've come across many toners that look quite like this one
Gotta remove this one from the type set., and blow off the Verdi-Gris. I should have known better coins and work shop dont mix.
My favorite early (1st gen) anacs slab toner. It has the thickest color ring I've seen from a tiny hotel soap bar slab and it's electric neon purple! Just had to have it the second I saw her
