I know it's a B-2 small letters, how about grade and value? What do you think? s-l400-2.jpg s-l400-3.jpg

That 'tick' to the one o'clock side of the eagle (reverse) along with the rim dent at 5 o'clock is gonna cost you a bit Paddy. Otherwise, I see a nice AU example......comely color. :)

Nice quarter! I like the Rev crack. Too bad about that hit above the eagle

From the photos, it looks to have been cleaned and retoned in an album. That's just my opinion, of course. EF details. fairly significant hit above the eagle that might preclude straight grading at a TPG.
Still, I like it as a 185 year old coin that avoided the melting pot.

From the sub-par pictures, I'd say dipped/cleaned and retoned (the secondary toning is rather attractive, especially the obverse). The reverse is not so great, but the obverse is more important anyways. The unfortunate mark above the eagle will hurt its value/grade. I'm 50/50 whether it would straight grade or not - but it has EF details either way.

I'm in the extra fine camp. I see enough wear to keep it out of the about uncirculated group. The reverse scratch would be acceptable in that grade, I would imagine.

Without being able to properly see the surfaces 45. 53 with a better photo would not shock me, neither would 50/40. 45/50 would be my guess from that though

It's not a B-2 small letters, it's a B-1. The die crack on the reverse and the berries on the branch are the dead giveaway.

Obv graffiti "MARGO" under the bust if you didn't catch it.

    XF Details and no higher.

No someone else saw the graffiti I didn't , as on a pad the images are a lot different than a lap top.

Mine was in a NGC Au55 slab. Old cleaning and retoned.

Nice busty quarter @paddy the clash draws my eye much more then the hit
$2-250 seems like a fair price.

A hit on the reverse and an old Retoned dip I'd call it xf 45 details. Could get a pass and straight grade but I doubt it

Well, it's a details coin. It's attractive, and the condition is nice for a B-1. It's tough to find those in XF. I've paid in the low $200s for XF details hole fillers in this series if the coin was a rarer die state or variety, but I think $265 is too much for this coin.

It's in the field above the 3 in the date, slanted downward to the right. Difficult to make out the writing from these photos, but if you know it's there and what it says you can still read it. The original eBay listing had larger photos where it was very readable. It's of course extremely tiny due to the scale, but it clearly says "MARGO".
