History Today had a nice little write up on Aethelred II's coins. Wish it had a little more detail, but still good: http://www.historytoday.com/kate-wiles/coins-æthelred-unready I've been keeping an eye out for a 'Hand of God' type, but none from Aethelred yet.
I've read a handful of them. Actually in the middle of one right now, The Last Warrior. He sure finds a lot of ways to describe death in battle! Steve
Afraid not - I have trouble reading fiction set in the Middle Ages because I become to critical of it. I keep my historical fiction to the early modern period - mostly the works of Rafael Sabatini

CORRECTION: I'm reading "The Last Kingdom" by Bernard Cornwell, not "The Last Warrior" as I mentioned above. Mea culpa. Steve
Just got the chance - lovely write-up, and some interesting coins as well! I knew of the Danish connection, but never really saw Scandinavian coins of the era offered before, so it wasn't something I had ever considered collecting...
It appears that CNR is subscription only. Do excerpts, articles ever get published where non-subscribers can access them? Steve
http://www.cngcoins.com/Digital+Publications+Archive.aspx I found it by clicking on the most recent issue shown, then at the bottom of the issue, there is a pull-up menu that linked to the newest one (I'm using an iPad though, so I'm not sure how that will look on a regular computer)
