    Very nice... Stay in the Empire... I am still capturing Rupublics. :D

    Kidding aside, you are picking very nice non-gold Ancients! I enjoy not having to guess the legends with yours... However, since I love the historical aspect of people transacting the coins, mine all have wear and tear...

    Nice looking Imperial Pman, and I agree with Al. Stay in the Imperials. I think you can enjoy them very much while I dabble elsewhere.

    Exactly. Roman Republicans are for girly men who aren't manly enough to chase Imperial Gold. Definitely not your style Panzerman! Please stay away! :stop:

    Can I call dibs on silver coins of the Nerva-Antonine dynasty? :) Great coin, @panzerman! Why aren't people posting their Elagalabus and Libertas coins? MOAR COIN PICTURES! :)

    well, okay then ...

    Sadly, I still only have these two Elagabalus examples ...

    => a sweet Eagle-Tet and a cool Fortuna Denarius

    => Oh, and I also have an amazingly humble example of a Claudius-II (Gothicus), which "kinda" shows Libertas on the reverse ... man, I need more coins, eh?

    ancient56.jpg ancient56b.jpg

    Sidenote => this was my very first ancient coin-purchase (arrrggghh, if I'd only read a few of your threads "before" buying this sentimental favourite, eh?)

    panzerdawg => wow, that's a fantastic OP-example (another total winner)

    :rolleyes:

    I've only owned one real Elagabalus coin, but it was a rare one.

    Elagabalus. (218-222 AD). AR Denarius (2.67g, 19mm). Eastern mint, possibly Antioch, c. 219 AD. ANTONINVS PIVS FELAVG, laureate, draped and cuirassedbust right / TRP II P P COS II, Elagabalus, holding branch and eagle-tipped scepter, in quadriga of horses left. BMCRE306, Cohen 285 (citing BM, 100 Fr.) and RIC 175 (R2).

    Curtis Clay once told me that there were only 6 known, most in museums. I sold it to some guy on Forvm a few years back.

    Nice denarius, a quadriga reverse, nice strike, even down to the warrior's scar on his right cheek!
