Here is my AV Dinar ND circa 260AD from unknown Bactrian mint Kushano-Sassanian Empire Ardashir I/Peroz
Thank you, its my first Sassanian coin! When the Sassanians conquered most of the former Kushan Empire, their coins kinda imitated the Vasu Deva types. John
I always find it remarkable, that today we have 2000 year old coins that are virtually as they came from minting facilities. Also, thankfully they were people that preserved them for us, to enjoy today. Really, glad to meet all nice fellow collectors.
I think its coin fever! I got it so bad, I will never be able to retire. Probably will work till I am past 100....or longer! Just put a couple more bids on sixbid tonite before bedtime. I bring auction catalogues to work, look at them while having lunch.
@panzerman. I got my photographer back. here's better pics of that Australia gold sovereign I bought at my last coin show... KM#29 1918-S .917 gold mintage-3,716,000 in BU. white stuff on the reverse is on the airtite
Well, congrats on scoring-back your photographer (hopefully it's not S-Yoda's photographer as well?) Hey, if you're gonna post your sweet 1918 golden-child, then I'm definitely gonna man-up and post my 1857 copper dragon-slayer!! (Upper Canada) ... my sweet baby comes complete with an awesome cornucopia Hey, panzerdawg => is Ontario warm and sunny today, or warm and rainy? (I hope your weekend is going well) ... I hope that this landscaping season brings a whole bunch of great coins for us to admire!!
Steve...neat coin. I found one (still have it) in my mothers flowerbed when I was eight. She got me helping her weed....future training?, little did I know that back then. I still have it in my "token" collection, close to mint state quality! Today its 15 celsius and sunny, been sunny for past four days! Probably take off the shirt in afternoon to start on the tan.....
(*phew*) ooops => ahahaha, sorry S-Yoda ... I got confused and thought that was panzerman's post (glad to hear that your sweet photgrapher is still in the mix) panzerman => it is amazing how fast the snow disappears (what a great country, eh?) => bring-on the mosquitos (what's the worst that could happen, right?)
yup. Jenny my ex comes to see the cats and I have my new coins ready for her to photograph. it is not a condition for her to see the cats( I will never deny her seeing that cats...these 3 cats are like our children)... I think it's her way of saying thank you for me buying her such an expensive camera. I am still gonna shoot for getting my own camera. probably the less expensive Nikon. do not be confused with me getting back together with her. That will not ever happen again.
