I wake up this morning, turn on the T.V. and I see 1992-1999 silver proof sets being offered for $669.95.

A minute later, they are offering 10 clad NGC PF70 Ultra Cameo coins (2 cents, 2 nickels, 2 dimes, 4 state quaters with NGC box) for $469.95 (2000 plus years).

40 Buffalo Nickels, common dates, F - VF conditon, $55.00

120 Buffalo nickels (they added later, 80 coins)...$145 with an stone arrow head they threw in (a $20 value---FREE), regular price sold was $390.00

40 V-Nickels, common dates, AG to G condition, $68. Almost made me believe that another 1913 V nickel was out there.

So much for the Coin Vault...gotta to love the prices they get. After listening to them, they almost got me started to collect Buffalo nickels and made me feel bad I didn't buy the 10 PR70 NGC coins.

1986-2004 NGC MS69 US Silver Eagles (NGC box included) $899.95 plus $12.99. Sold elsewhere for $1,042.00

Only in America...somebody sells, somebody buys. Too bad buyers don't research first.

I saw the Coin Vault this morning. Those silver proof sets from 1999-2004 seem like a bargain for $999.95! Too bad I don't have that kind of money...

I remember the MS-70 set that they sold early in the year. $10,000. While it can be said that the perfect set was assembled, 10 grand? A set of MS-69 doesn't impress me too much. Save a few hundred dollars and you can easily pick up MS-68 and no one outside of NGC or PCGS will know the difference.

If you love Coin Vault you'll adore those Ebay coin sellers that hype their AU-50's as MS-64's with digitally enhanced pics. I know I bought one (eventually graded and price refunded). Maybe I should just crack-out my good-looking AU's and market them as MS 63-64. That wouldn't be fraud would it - just "overgrading." As many buyers will not get the coin graded - who's to know - and I'll be money ahead.

Heck, when viewing some of these coin listings did you ever get the feeling that the "Crack-Out King" has a lot of relatives?

I was going to bid on the Virgin Mary Sandwich until I found out it was on white instead of rye.

Look at it this way - you don't have to wait until Thanksgiving to cook a bird - some coin buyers get their goose cooked every day on Ebay.

Very recently I learned of an educated gentlemen buying Carson City Gold off of the CoinVault. As much as it saddens me to know that collectors still fall prey to their showmanship, I still contend that we whom know better need to spread the correct word about where and how to buy coins.
