I'll report it but I should be able to explain how it's a fake. Teach me.

It's hard to explain, other than it looks mushy, cartoonish, and nothing like the real ones.

Looks like somebody placed a bid already.
    Ok sounds iffy.

Sorry I can not describe it better. There are fakes in other series that look legit to me, but it is because I do not collect those series. This one is just pretty obvious to me, but might be good enough to fool a lot of people.

Don't worry - either a shill bidder or an idiot that probably would be appreciative of someone telling them

    I resemble that remark.

No seriously, I would be that idiot.

I'ts a "private listing" type of auction. And those are a big red flag for shill bidding by sellers. Ebay should ban those type of auctions

Trying to give the benefit of doubt to the seller.
Could it be that the seller is unaware that it is a fake.
    Probably happens a lot.

I made a report, hey maybe you saved somebody a 100 bucks.

I also suggested to EBay that they would want to have a look at the listing. After looking at my $1 gold, I think it is an El Fako. Maybe the seller doesn't know better and got conned himself, but frankly that's not a concern with counterfeits chewing our hobby alive.

That's a nice looking coin, I mean from some other listings.
Wonder how much actual gold is on a genuine coin.

Those tool lines on the lettering are a dead giveaway along with the whole look of the coin .

Looks cast to me, but I'm willing to bet it's still in gold .
