Do you have it in you to not be so literal and technical? All your legislative talk aside, the only thing bullion about these are the purity. They are clearly a collectible.

Can anyone recall other mint packaging having wavey lines?

    B-U-L-L-I-O-N, can you say bullion?
    125,000 pieces of gold bullion.

Quite simply, if it were not merely bullion, it would be illegal to produce without Congress, period.

Have you seen his clean cut Sears photo avatar wearing a suit with lapel pin? Litteral and technical is his middle name. Seriously, I bet it's on his birth certificate :p:smuggrin:

The photo is mine - a "selfie" taken with my Hasselblad, on film, in my own studio.

Oh yeah, you're a camera guy. Forgot about that. Must have used a timer huh, forgot about cameras having timers lol... But if that's your version of a selfie it lends even more credence to my birth certificate theory :p

Actually an infrared remote, but why quibble? One of my former political buddies referred to me as "the lunatic Swiss watch maker".

I just bought & received today 2 gold mercury dimes & really like the packaging & just wondering if I should submit them for grading? (Paid $200.00 each)
I also plan on buying the gold quarter & gold half dollar.

You will get a lot of feedback here on the topic of graded bullion coins. I, for one, wouldn't do it. Perhaps if they were proofs, but they're not.

Stick around for more feedback. As a disclaimer, Mike, I did not buy any.

Interesting. At $200 each that's LESS than issue price. Have they dropped below issue already?

If you're a collector, why bother grading? Enjoy 'em in the original packaging... that's what I'm doing.

OTOH, if you plan to sell, grading makes sense if you believe it will grade 70. But it takes an experienced eye to spot a 70.

And if it "only" grades 69, I doubt you'll recover the grading fees when you sell.

For a comparison, take a look at Apmex prices. (But don't expect to get those prices for your private party sales.)

I was online & bought them straight from the U.S Mint at 12:10 ($200.00 each)
I understand they were sold out about 45 minutes later.
