Saw these at auction and was wondering if they are authentic or fakes? s-l1600.jpg

    chrsmat71 I LIKE TURTLES!

size and mass look good, i'm pretty sure the first is ok...the second don't know. could just be in bad condition. please wait for a second opinion (or 3rd).

I think the first one is a bit light, the second one is a bit grim. I would pass on them both.

Pawnshop tets. I was jazzed at first seeing them, but not really very excited now. I do like the "masonic" symbol on the first, perhaps I will make a low bid, but won't take out a second loan on the house.

They are real but I would pass on both of these.

Yeah, not FDC, but hefty and kind of cool looking.

These are "'sub" Fine imagine how much more awesome they could be. You want a coin that you put on your nightstand and roller over and smile at.

My Lifetime Alex tet is not the best that can be shown here but its mine and I am happy with it.

I really like that one @Kentucky....and especially since I'm sure you got it at a very affordable price....probably better than the worn (Fine +) example I purchased off a Forum auction. Yours appears to be a good VF:)

    Congrats!!!!:woot:

Ya know, if they are cheap enough...what a great pocket piece. Beats the heck out of an ASE, and maybe even an AGE. Come to think of it, the only people who would be impressed (or even mildly interested) are coin geeks.

Sigh...I bought the first one for $76...like the masonic type symbol and just might use it for a pocket piece. Pictures when I receive.

You're right!! I had a high-grade Tet that I use to show off only to discover they weren't sure of who Alexander was and they took one look at it and said "Nice Coin' and looked away LOL

If it's any consolation, mine was a tad more worn and went for $85.00 shipped....

But hey, these are silver coins of the Alexander era---and about 2,340 years old !!
