I picked these up some time ago, just wanna post 'em up for comments and info.

    1, 2 and 3: Morgan dollar(barely makes a F-12) 1882 CC with third reverse tail feathers

4 and 5: remodeled portrait capped bust, 1836 (the last year that this model was in production, this one makes a VF-20)

And the penny that came with these two will come in the next post, since my limit is five attachments.

    Nice little group of coins.

The 1854 half cent had a mintage of 55,358 pieces. I agree that yours is an EF piece, but the rim dings on it do detract from it some. I would place its value at probably $60-75.

The 1928-S Lincoln Cent had a mintange of 17,266,000 pieces. Yours would probably grade about VF and is worth $2.50-$3.00.

    Hope this helps a little.

Just to be picky: note: It is not the Barber dollar, George Morgan designed it.
Charles Barber designed the then current five cent, dime, quarter and half dollar.

Nice pick-ups, really like the Half Dollar. The 1835 and 1836 Capped Bust Halves are the most beautiful portrayals of Miss Liberty on any US Coinage IMHO that is. A young, healthy, optimistic, and beautiful ladies portrait for a large impressive coin. The first of it's kind with edge lettering. The prices are still amazingly cheap for the amount of history you get with each piece.

    Take Care

There are two variety of the 1928 S penny. A large and small S mint mark. I don't know how you would tell the difference. The large variety goes for a bit more.

I can get a close-up of the S. But I only have one so I cant compare. if someone else has one to compare to mine that would be great.

1836-1839 Capped Bust half dollars are machine minted and only 30 mm in diameter, as opposed to the hand screw press minted Capped Bust half dollars of 1807-1835 with a diameter of 32.5 mm. These also have a "Lettered Edge" (like the new dollar thingies). The 1836-1839 smaller, machine minted Capped Bust halves have a reeded edge, like most modern coins....

Lol....I didn't even look at the reverse close enough to see that the half cent was really a cent. I must really be slipping!
