Would a dip help his walker?

From some personal experience, I think if you dipped that coin the rest of the coin would lighten, but the black marks would remain. Basically a dip would accentuate the contrast and make the black marks stand out even more.

    I would leave it alone.

It looks like a couple of 64 Kennedys I had that were stored for years in a baggy. When the acetone removed the green slim, what was left was the damage: black spots just like on that coin.

I vote for PVC damage, no dip will help.

If corrosion is any part of what we're looking at, I would think, at a minimum, you'd want to interrupt that process so that it doesn't continue to get worse. An application of Verdi-Care after a week or longer acetone soak, will at least arrest the corrosion process. That's as far as I would go if it were my coin. Jack

Thanks for the tips. Unfortunately, PVC is not black.

IMO, leave the dirty coin alone and sell/trade out of it so the next "sucker" can ruin it.
