It looks fake to me...not an error but someone used something to create it. That's my opinion anyway. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2002-D-LOUI...556940?hash=item2a644f7b4c:g:3UIAAOSwQjNW-taW
Looks like it was used as a shim for something, or possibly as a stunt double in an action flick where the hero was a State Quarter which deliberately sacrificed itself under a blacksmith's hammer. You'll note there's no detail in any of the "extra strikes," just impact damage.
This item is just as bad I want to share this webpage with you - http://www.ebay.com/itm/1977-Washington-Quarter-25c-Mint-Error-Double-Curved-Clip/361523758109?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIC.MBE&ao=1&asc=35389&meid=1c0fe18a4b9d4fdeacf394d09f61d8bc&pid=100005&rk=5&rkt=6&sd=182071556940
I guess if I got a box of quarters and smacked each quarter with a hammer a few times, it would be worth 86 thousand dollars....
I hope whoever bought it never heard of a TPG. Nobody with 2 brain cells to rub together and even a little numismatic knowledge would touch it.
