ok so this is now my favorite campgate, love those doors....think i'll be adding more of these to my collection...

    RIC7-294-obv.jpg RIC7-294-rev.jpg RIC7-294.jpg

    Constantine II, AE3, 325-326, Arles, Officina 3
    CONSTANTINVS IVN NOB C
    Laureate, draped, cuirassed bust left
    VIRTVS-CAESS
Campgate with eleven rows, four turrets, open doors with three panels with
undetermined number of pellets, star above, top and bottom rows empty blocks
    TA crescent RL in exergue
    RIC VII, 294 (C1)

on a side note, WildWinds had this listed, not sure if it means anything but it sounds cool...
"Although rated C1 in RIC, this Rev. and Mint mark, with this
number of campgate rows, has only been reported on one
other occasion (ie. Ex Keith Metzer Collection)."

i know there was a Campgate thread started a while back, but what about "with doors", anyone else got any to post...

The only "with doors" I can think of off the top of my head is Steve's.

You had to start a campgate discussion; with doors no less. Love these types and there's a lot of really nice pieces shown. This closed door Constantine I type is the pride of my collection:

    Constantine Closed Door 1.jpg

It may just be by accident but the open door type seem very inviting while the closed door type says "go away". Not sure why they did this.

Ken: that is a wonderful campgate with doors. I only have one with doors and its not exactly in the greatest condition:

Brian, awesome campgate and a real prize. Wish I had one. I've collected campgates for a number of years, and one of my favorite gates is this one from my collection. There is something a little different about it, can anybody tell what it is.

His laureate head-gear is different than the usual suspects, yes?

Steve, you're close, no head-gear at all. Thats unusual for campgates and I have no ideal why. But it's cool.

I see a lot of camp door specialists here! Although I collect Constantinian coins I do not own a lot camp gates. However, I came across this, I my opinion special, camp gate with one door half open and one door closed and I had to buy it. I could not find a similar coin on the internet. Have one of you seen one before?
