USMC, it doesn't cost $12 to send in a coin to Wexler. It's $4 for him to attribute it and list it if it's a new discovery for the Homestead series. Of course, if you want the coin back you add return postage, which is $2.54. I enjoy finding new ones and sending them in and having him list them. I just got #129 added to his list that I sent in about 10 days ago. Yours looks like it could have several areas of doubling outside of the one window but for me, I'd have to see it in hand with a loop and my microscope camera. I see some lap over doubling in the window above it and possibly some minor doubling over the pump in the window below it, although that could be junk from circulation, and maybe a spot in the corner of the very bottom window. But like I said, closer pictures and an in hand examination would really tell you. You should send it in if you can't find anything exactly the same.

What state are you in? I am in NC and I have found all of mine in boxes of quarters here.

if you own a mouse there is usually a wheel on it that allows you to scroll. open the homestead listings and roll the wheel downward to the one that says NE-WDDR-039.

roll the wheel downward from NE-WDDR-039 to NE-WDDR-040

I don't think you have all the numbers there. $4 for the attribution, $1.00 for 2 mailers at Walmart. $5.08 postage total there and back, $2.50 for the insurance there and back, plus $1.25 for a money order. so if you DO want the coin back in all it it comes $13.83. unless you are sending multiple coins it's not worth it.

Yikes, I write a check, don't do money orders. And I buy bubble padded envelopes by the lot of 500 or more so it's pennies to me. I don't insure them when I send them in either. Haven't lost one yet.

I am picky about what I send in. actually my first attribution coin was the NE-WDDR-008. the only reason I sent it in was I figured it was the only chance I may ever get at having a find that would make his BEST OF list. while I was there I figured I would throw the 006 and 007 in with it. so a one time submission for $1.25 money order is ok with me. a lot cheaper than buying a box of checks at my bank for $20. as if the $6.99 monthly charge isn't bad enough.

Well, I guess you bank at a different bank than I do. I get my checks free, so no cost there, and I don't pay any monthly charges. I just enjoy sending them in if I think they are unlisted and see if they qualify for a new listing. I scour the Wexler list 4, 5, maybe 6 times to make real sure I don't see what I see listed and still a couple times my eyes have deceived me and Wexler sees it different and sends it back as already listed. But I try to send in more than one when i do send them in. It all depends on how many I find in the box I am searching. When I can get a box of quarters it keeps me busy in my retirement on days I have nothing else to do. Maybe one of these days I will find one that can qualify for "best of", but if I don't I am still happy with what I have found.

retirement? that might be why you don't pay for checks. she banks with a credit union and I think 65 or older the checks are free. I just got lucky with my listing. the boxes around me were filled with, and still are, the 005, 008, 039, 040, and 041. I have more than I need of each. but the dang elusive 004 is no where in sight.

Haven't you guys heard of cash. Just drop a $5, $10 or $20 in with the subissions depending on how much the fees are. Mailing small amounts of cash is fine imo. Oh and just put 3+ stamps on the bubble mailer and put 3+ stamps inside for return. We're not talking rarities or big money here just common stuff that may be listable to help the cause and the next guy that finds one :)

Yeah we get your point. But the mail around my neighborhood tends to get lost I've even found mail in my yard in the street and it wasn't even my mail so if I get lucky the USPS will lose my package as they have done in the past it is always nice to know I can get $50 for a lost $.25 piece, insurance is a must P1000819.JPG

Well, it's more to do with having my house loan with them, how much money you got, etc. It puts you into a different category where there are no fees and checks are free. I hardly write checks anymore anyway....just for things like sending in coins for attribution. I don't remember paying for checks when I was with the state CU here either. But I know some people don't want to spend the money and that's perfectly fine.

PS. It seems to me the members on this site do a pretty good job of classifying errors though it may not be official it's close and any new members that may find some of these errors have a good idea what they are and if they wish to send them into one of the official graders that is their choice. right now at least for me food and medication is I priority not some official stamp on a coin I know what I have you know what I have except for the one coin I have 1878cc that hit a wall when it came up with three retained chips this one I will eventually end up paying to find out more information and have it graded not slab :blackalien: \V/

What state are you in? Curious to see how the distribution goes. All my boxes come from Loomis and I almost never ever find any silver when looking for errors.

You seem to be pretty good with your mouse ? How about some references to my 1878cc Morgan with three retained die chips or any Morgan with retained die chips :blackalien: \V/

Make a thread about it with pictures. Full pics though not zoomed in to the point the chips are mountains though

Edit: you already did post it. Thought it sounded familiar
