I am still in running for two lots, seems most will go above estimates. Looks like there is no ceiling for ancient coins....like there "on fire". If this trend keeps up, most will become out of reach of us ordinary folk, and be the exclusive realm of "bigshots"
    That is sad:(

And a brighter note: Anybody watching TV series "Billion Dollar Wreck" they are hunting for over Billion dollars of US Double Eagles RMN America?

Although we're all "ordinary" here, ordinary isn't the same for everyone as it seems !!!

    :D Q

You collectors with deep pockets can fight over those amazing coins. Not my league. But you've got my support - I hope you win!

LOL...... Yep, I'm one of the other 'ordinary types' since I haven't a bid left on that auction...

Anyway, best of luck @panzerman !!!! And, I haven't caught that show...sounds interesting.

Yes, always seems with these programs that they never find the treasure. Have you heard about that fabulous hoard they found in some temple complex in S. India. Heard its worth in tens of BILLIONS in gems/gold coins....
Makes you think of Laura Croft "Tomb Raider" I would love it if they uncovered thousands of mintstate Jahangir Zodiac Mohurs. Lots of stuff buried in India.

.....Or the lost tomb of Genghis Khan and the vast hoard of 'treasures' it must have contained.....:hurting::hungry:

I didn't know the Roma auctions, thanks for this. Don't have enough money at the moment, but if I had, I would go for one or two of the gold Migration Period coins, they are rarely offered and in excellent condition. What you usually see is silver and bronze coins in appalling condition for prices only a little below the Roma auctions estimates.
